Historical & Architectural Review Board
Also known as HARB
A historical and architectural review board, usually shortened to HARB, is the municipal body that reviews proposed changes to buildings in a designated historic district and advises the governing body on whether to permit them.
In Phoenixville
Phoenixville's HARB works to preserve and protect the old historic district, architecturally worthy structures, and the borough's landscape features, while encouraging economic development in the district. Members serve four-year terms. If you own a building in the historic district and want to alter it, this is the board whose recommendation you need.
