Also known as PA Criminal Record Check, PATCH
An Act 34 clearance is a Pennsylvania State Police criminal history record check, required of people who work or volunteer with children in Pennsylvania.
In Phoenixville
It's one of the three checks usually grouped under Act 153, alongside the Act 151 child abuse clearance and an FBI fingerprint check. According to Phoenixville Area School District's volunteer FAQ, the criminal history clearance is currently free for volunteer applicants, and clearances must be renewed every five years. Each organization sets its own requirements within what state law asks for, so confirm before paying for anything.
